Dr. Octavio De Ycaza established his
dental practice in 1967. Since then, his
goal has been to help his patients to
achieve the highest standards of health,
by providing state of the art dentistry.
Moved by a desire to provide the best
quality of dental care to the Panamanian
community, Dr. De Ycaza invested time in
continuous education assisting training
courses and Dental meetings, mainly in
the USA. He also became a Crown and
Bridge Professor at the Dental School of
the University of Panama for more than
25 years. He was distinguished within
the dental community as President of the
Panamanian Dental Association, founding
member and president of the Panamanian
Academy of Prosthodontics and Occlusion,
and he is also a member of the
International College of Dentistry, and
the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
After completing a specialty in combined
Prosthodontics and a master in Oral
Biology at Loyola University Chicago, in
1991 his daughter Dra. Anna María De
Ycaza de Boyd joined the dental
practice. Aware of how important the
personal apperance projected by each
person is today, Dr Boyd made a
commitment to make available the best
esthetic procedures to their patients,
so they can improve their self esteem
and be confident on themselves. It is a
great pleasure to know that she
succeeded and the practice offers now
the same esthetic smile makeovers as you
can see in TV for movie stars in
Hollywood, using also dental
laboratories and high tech materials
similar to those offered in first world
countries.
Dr. Anna María has also dedicated to the
care of the young children in the
practice. She has made an effort to
master the latest psychological
techniques to manage child behavior, in
order to provide kids with a rewarding
experience that will help them become
educated adults, aware of the importance
of oral health, and at the same time
people without fear of the dentist.
No pain dentistry or stress-free dental
care, has been one of the goals of both
Doctors, and for that reason it has been
important for them to have services for
oral or IV sedation available to provide
the best dental care for handicap and
patients with any other conditions that
would benefit with the use of these
services.
Today father and daughter form an
integrated team that will provide the
advantage of both opinions and
perspectives especially useful in more
complex cases. They always make an
effort to provide their patients state

computers, intraoral cameras, the best
hand pieces with minimal noise,
one-appointment root canal treatments,
high-tech laboratories specialized in
esthetic procedures, no pain dentistry
with sedation, all together with the
excellent clinical skills of the doctors
that will make the experience at the
dental chair more comfortable for each
patient. That is why together, with the
experience and specialized training they
have, they are very well qualified to
design a comprehensive approach for
those patients with severely
deteriorated dentitions, which require
the use of multiple combined restorative
techniques, to be able to return a
normal function to the patient, free of
pain and with a beautiful smile.
